JAMES FOX | Photoshop: Just Another Tool for the Artist
photographer / fredericksburg, texas
James Fox (www.jamesfox.com) has been a photographic artist since the early 1970’s. Jim has studied fine art printing with John Sexton who was Ansel Adams's assistant and instructor at the Ansel Adams Workshop for many years.  He began his professional life as a musician and music educator.

"After a few years of teaching I became a school principal. Soon after becoming a principal I began making images on weekends and evening, during school vacations, and on frequent backpack trips to the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico and Colorado. Soon it became my passion to capture images and make them into art. My passion for art was so overwhelming that I left the teaching profession in 1991 and began chasing light."

DR. PAUL TUCKER | Poetry Interlude
hot springs, arkansas
An Arts Encounter poetry feature with Dr. Paul Tucker. Neurologist and poet, Dr. Tucker is one of the founders (along with Benini) of a weekly poetry performance in Hot Springs, Arkansas that has met every week at the Poet's Loft since 1989. Dr. Tucker's life-long interest in poetry began in childhood with an illustrated copy of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam with translations by Edward Fitzgerald. “There were many translations, but only Fitzgerald’s work has the beautiful words and rhythm, which made it a famous piece of work. My older brother and I used to compete to see who could memorize most versions, although we never memorized all of this book.” Dr. Tucker has assembled 74 poems into a work titled “In That One Moment” that he plans to publish in the near future.
