FEATURED ARTISTS for AUGUST  2006:

Saturday and Sunday | August 26th and 27th, 2006

Presentations begin promptly at 1:30 pm & 3:30 pm

   D. Arthur Wilson

  Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

We first met D. Arthur Wilson in Hot Springs in the 90's, and we gave him his first
exhibition in our building there. He was creating huge pieces - close-ups of
lions, orangutans, parrots, etc. Along with these bold, highly detailed works, he had a playful series of ostriches - in many positions, rather enchanting and comical characters. This series it seems has evolved into his Rhupert series now.

D. Arthur will be speaking on the “Evolution of an Artist” -  28 years as a professional artist and how a lifetime devoted to art has exposed a method which he applies to daily life. It all starts with “Inspiration” and followed always with “Motivation”, then “Action” resulting in “Influence”; which of coarse starts the entire cycle over again hopefully to “Inspire” once again. “It is the giving of ourselves over to the world when both the world and the artist are complete,” says D. Arthur.

  Lisa Wilson
    Hot Springs National Park

Abstract Expressionism by Lisa:

Lisa will  share her experiences on and off the canvas of the “Journey of the Soul – A Daily Discovery”.  An artist in different mediums -  dancer, writer, musician and currently professional artist -  her expressive, creative journey begins with simply the decision, followed by permission, to follow one's heart.  “The tapestry of my life has become my greatest source of inspiration; the journey of being a woman, daughter, wife, mother, intuitive, expressionist and back to the desire for simplicity much like that of a child at play.  “A child doesn’t worry, doesn’t control, plan or see too far down the path….as an artist, all of those characteristics are necessary for my art to flow, to be discovered within the canvas, to come to realization, and then to share.”
